Storytellers

We are storytellers,
drawing conclusions
from an assumed reality,
connecting dots from random characters,
who like to talk back.

We are fortune tellers,
predicting tomorrow,
with an over zealous confidence
that is prejudiced
and a caricature of yesterday.

Yet still, we are storytellers
filing our words under non-fiction,
where truth is reality,
dreams are dishonest,
and words are as dogmatic
as our thoughts

that we don’t know where they came from,
nor where they belong.

In the midst of the crowd

Let the “news”
be none of your concern;
turn away and
make your own.

You have all you need,
an abundance of wealth
resides within you,
so choose your own will.

Don’t be tempted,
for the fool gratifies himself;
delay what you want,
appreciate what you have.

Focus on the Idea,
and craft your wood;
let it take shape,
and project your dreams.

Find love in what matters most
and dive in;
master it,
and grow beyond.

What matters,
you cannot see;
what you can hear,
you can ignore.

Be inquisitive,
live in solitude
in the midst of the crowd,
and live out the answers.
